When building the ESOREX Platform, one objective was that the collected data could be directly used to answer other forms, as for instance the UNSCEAR global survey questionnaire. A large part of categories in the list of activities of the UNSCEAR questionnaire and of the ESOREX datasheets are matching but there are nevertheless some discrepancies, especially in the Medical field and the Nuclear field. We propose here to share the experience the IRSN recently met when filling the UNSCEAR questionnaire starting from the data already entered into ESOREX for France.
Medical field / medical uses
The data in the ESOREX categories "Diagnosis radiology" and "Interventional radiology" have to be summed in the UNSCEAR category "Diagnostic radiology".
Nuclear field / Nuclear fuel cycle
- the data from the ESOREX categories "Propulsion" and " Weapon manufacturing" have to be substracted from the UNSCEAR "Nuclear fuel cycle" and added to the UNSCEAR "Military activity" field;
- the data from the ESOREX categories "Nuclear research facilities" and "Transport/Nuclear fuel cycle" have to be added in the corresponding categories in the UNSCEAR "Nuclear fuel cycle";
- if possible from your raw data, you will have to split data from the ESOREX "Nuclear logistics and maintenance" into two categories of the UNSCEAR questionnaire: "Nuclear fuel cycle/Reactor operation/Contractors" and "All other activities in nuclear fuel cycle";
- if possible from your raw dat, you will have to split data from the ESOREX "Other field/regulatory control activities" into two categories of the UNSCEAR questionnaire: "Nuclear fuel cycle/Safety and safeguards inspections" and "Miscellaneous/Other specific occupational group".
